Having experienced my fair share of racial epithets as a Chinese American, this science headline couldn't help but instinctly raise my eyebrows.

That is right, 'two different chinks' have been identified.  Maybe they are brothers?

ATRFAVT

I was just gifted some letters yesterday - two A's, one R, one F, two T's, and one V to be precise.

They are members of the loose tribe of letters from those signs-as-you-please that populate the landscape, favorites of gas stations and high schools yo teach' - time for a spelling quiz!) across the country.

The plastic + fluorescent light descendants of that genius invention, Moveable type, as well as Scrabble and its freer little bro,  Bananagrams.

These letters were begging to be made into something.  To be given meaning through the power of being part of an entity as collective and significant as a W.O.R.D.
